I would first like to thank you for visiting gshurd.com and take this time to introduce myself. I was born in California but moved to Dunedin, Florida when I was 10 years old. I attended Dunedin High School where I was first introduced to Architecture / AUTOCAD and graduated in 2002. Construction became my choice of job after school employed as a handyman and eventually a marine dock worker constructing residential and commercial docks/boat-lifts between Clearwater and Tarpon Springs. The economy started into its recession around 2006-7 and the work dried up which presented an opportunity to try college. Attending St Petersburg College, I was able to graduate with my Associates in Science and subsequently applying to the University of South Florida to finish out my college career. My initial plan was to become a Meteorologist, but the courses were not offered at USF and the guidance counselor persuaded me to try Civil Engineering (probably one of the better pieces of advice I have taken). 2 year later I graduated from USF with my BSCE and have been working successfully in the field of Heavy Highway Civil Construction for FDOT and County municipalities. After 4 years of experience, I sat and passed Professional Engineering License Exam and gave me the option to start my own business GS HURD.
I pride myself on producing quality work and a keeping excellent communication between clients during all phases of the project. You will not find another engineer that will answer the phone or visit the field as often as I do. Given my extensive construction and inspection background I can offer practical, cost effective solutions to almost any situation. Finally, and possibly most importantly, I offer clients expedited turn around time of plan reviews.
I truly appreciate your consideration and hopefully I will be speaking with you soon!
